Nauman Smith represents both print and broadcast media entities throughout central Pennsylvania involving a variety of publishing and court issues which routinely arise. In order to allow our clients to effectively do their jobs, Nauman Smith has successfully represented media clients in Right to Know Act requests, Sunshine Act and other government and court record access issues involving local, county and state agencies. When necessary, we have pursued access through appropriate court action including the appellate courts of Pennsylvania. We have also successfully defended publishers, editors and reporters in defamation and privacy actions and in subpoenas issued to reporters by private and public parties seeking testimony from journalists protected by Constitutional and state law privileges.

Our attorneys have presented seminars on media topics for the Pennsylvania Society of Newspaper Editors and the firm is an affiliated member of the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association.
